NAIROBI, Kenya – French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a 23 billion euro investment package set to be rolled out across African countries.

The announcement came at the French Africa Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, where leaders from more than 30 African nations gathered for the event.
According to details shared at the forum, the funding will be directed toward energy, artificial intelligence and digital technology, marine and logistics, and agriculture.
The package is expected to generate 250,000 direct jobs across Africa.
Macron said France’s goal is not only to invest on the continent, but also to open the door for African investors to put money into France.
He also signaled that Paris wants to deepen ties with Africa and identify new areas of cooperation with its former colonies as well as other African countries.
Reuters and France 24 reported that the forum was the first of its kind to be held outside French-speaking countries.
