Ten Hag vehemently rejects rumors of Man Utd sell-off as pure fiction

Before Manchester United’s inaugural transfer window with Jim Ratcliffe in charge, rumors hinted at a massive sell-off.
Erik ten Hag strongly refuted rumors that nearly every player on Manchester United’s team would be on the market in the upcoming transfer window, calling them “ridiculous.”
United has mathematically missed out on Champions League qualification, and there is a chance they may finish outside the European competitions, with Newcastle United and Chelsea trailing them.
Anticipate significant transformations in Manchester United’s first transfer window under INEOS founder Jim Ratcliffe’s supervision, following his acquisition of a minority stake.
Recent reports proposed that Manchester United were open to offers for all but three players: Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo.
During a press conference ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace, Ten Hag dismissed these claims.
“It’s absurd! Throughout my time here, Manchester United has supposedly received interest from 200 players every summer, which isn’t accurate. We conducted some investigations,” Ten Hag stated.
“Every summer, we supposedly sell off all of our players, which isn’t true. Rest assured and be accountable when publishing such sensational headlines. It’s complete nonsense.”
Despite facing intense scrutiny this season, Ten Hag has consistently stated that he will stay on at Old Trafford for the 2024-25 season.
He acknowledges that there is a lot of work ahead as Manchester United enters a new chapter, remarking: “There’s always much to do when a transfer window approaches.”
“We are still falling short of Manchester United’s expected standards, so we need to catch up.”
“This will be my fifth transfer window, with two being satisfactory and two where no progress was made. We need to make significant strides in the summer.”
“There is a solid foundation in this squad. Injuries heavily impacted our campaign.”
