Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has admitted that he intends to continue blowing up Arsenal’s phone in an attempt to bring Joe Willock back to St James’ Park.
Willock was outstanding in his six-month stint with Newcastle last season, scoring eight goals in 14 appearances for the Magpies and finding the net in each of his last seven appearances.

Talks will continue behind the scenes, but Bruce has admitted that he plans to do what he can to try to speed things up and bring Willock back to the club for the coming year.

“We would like to do something but it is still Arsenal’s call.”
Bruce’s words came after an older Newcastle side fell 1-0 to York City in their first left-handed game of the summer, where the Magpies’ need for some midfield tension was exposed for all to see.
