Mbappe Reveals Discontent at PSG: “Certain Aspects and Individuals Diminished My Happiness”

Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid, a subject of much speculation, was confirmed last Monday. This announcement marked the culmination of a prolonged transfer narrative that fans and followers had watched eagerly.

Kylian Mbappe has disclosed that his experiences at Paris Saint-Germaid caused him distress, a revelation he made during his first press conference after his switch to Real Madrid.

Last month, the French forward declared his departure from PSG after a stint of seven years, with his transition to Real Madrid getting formalized recently.

Mbappe has inked a no-cost transfer agreement with Madrid on a five-year tenure and will commence his new chapter in July post his current contract’s expiration with PSG.

In a recent media engagement before France’s friendly match against Luxembourg, Mbappe spoke on the rumors swirling around his last days at PSG.

“It’s known now, officially I’ll sport Real Madrid’s jersey for the next five seasons,” he expressed enthusiastically.

“Joining Real Madrid is not just exhilarating but a fulfillment of a lifelong aspiration. I’m over the moon, feeling free, and profoundly honored. I owe a big thanks to the club,” he added.

Mbappe clarified, “Claiming I was unhappy at PSG is a disservice to those who supported me; happiness there was constant.

“Yet, certain circumstances and individuals there did sour my experience. Being a pivotal team member, I concealed my discontent to maintain a positive front. The coach, fellow players, and staff stood by me, and it would have been improper to openly complain.”

The previous season was rough from the start for Mbappe, with an exclusion from the PSG team following a spat with the club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, concerning contract negotiations.

Crediting Luis Enrique substantially for his impressive comeback, Mbappe ended the season on a high note with 44 goals, securing both the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France.

“The club was blunt about sidelining me, their words harsh. If not for Luis Enrique and Luis Campos, I doubt I’d have returned to the pitch,” he stated.

“Playing again was a privilege in itself but rest assured, I won’t settle for another year like the last,” Mbappe concluded.
