Legendary Italian Defender Nesta Takes Helm at Monza Following Palladino’s Shift to Fiorentina

The iconic Alessandro Nesta is now at the helm of Monza for their upcoming Serie A stint.

At 48, Nesta steps in to fill the void left by Raffaele Palladino, who recently departed for Fiorentina.

While Nesta’s coaching career has been unremarkable when juxtaposed with his storied time on the pitch, he remains a revered figure in Italian football.

This marks Nesta’s maiden voyage into Serie A coaching, following tenures at Perugia, Frosinone, and most recently, Reggiana.

At Reggiana, he boosted the team to 11th in Serie B, overcoming contractual hurdles to join Monza.

Last season saw Monza secure a 12th-place finish in only their sophomore year at the top flight.
