Kane Thrilled as Palmer Debuts with a Goal in His First Start for England

Monday proved another stellar day for Cole Palmer as he added yet another feather to his season’s cap, while Harry Kane clocked essential playtime for England.

An elated Harry Kane praised Cole Palmer, who, in his first starting game for England, scored his debut goal against the Three Lions.

Palmer initiated the scoreboard with a penalty kick, aiding England’s 3-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina at St James’ Park.

Subsequently, Kane increased the tally, securing the third goal and sealing a dominant win in England’s next-to-last preparatory match before Euro 2024.

With a monumental 2023-24 season at Chelsea, which witnessed 33 goal involvements (22 goals and 11 assists), Palmer clinched the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.

Extolling Palmer, formerly of Manchester City, Kane remarked on his phenomenal season and seamless transition to Chelsea, which significantly bolstered the team.

“We’re ecstatic to have him. Scoring today, he’s shown he’ll be pivotal with his goal-scoring as we near the tournament. When morale is high, it elevates everyone’s performance,” Kane added.

Addressing his fitness, Kane, currently with Bayern Munich, discussed his recovery from a recent minor injury that sidelined him during the latter segment of the Bundesliga.

The England captain suggested this break might prove advantageous as he spearheads the national team’s challenge at the European Championship in Germany.

“I’m in good shape now. The downtime was mostly preventive,” he shared. “With an exciting summer ahead, we played it safe. It ended up being a great opportunity to recharge after a grueling season, and our camp training this past week has been intensive.”

“I’ve been training vigorously, gained some match time here, and expect more against Iceland this Friday. I’ll be primed for the group stages,” he concluded, optimistic that the forced hiatus could unexpectedly benefit his summer campaign.
