Juve make an “appropriate” Locatelli bid

Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has confirmed that Bianconeri have made a “suitable offer” to Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli, and they are “confident” that they will sign the Euro 2020 winner this summer.

The 23-year-old started the early stages of Euro 2020 with his match-winning contributions, and this led to interest from both Old Lady and Premier League attire Arsenal. However, the midfielder is only interested in a move to Turin and is waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement.

Nedved spoke before Saturday night’s friendship with Monza and said that Juventus have made an offer that they think is “appropriate” for Locatelli and that they are “sure” of landing their big goal.

“We spoke to Sassuolo and we made our offer, which we believe is appropriate for the current climate, with how the economy and transfer market have been affected by Covid,” Nedved told Sport Mediaset.

“We are convinced that this is a good offer and it is the right one. We are always safe, of course in negotiations there are things that need to be clarified and resolved. When you want a player and that player wants you, it’s clear. ”

The offer is expected to be an initial seasonal loan with an obligation to buy, together with a possible transfer fee of between 30 and 35 million euros – significantly less than Sassuolo first asked.

Juve were known for arranging a third meeting with Sassuolo this week, hoping to finally reach an agreement for the midfielder. Neroverdi held out for 40 million euros, but so far Bianconeri has only launched a lower figure, while offering one of its own players as part of the deal.

However, Sassuolo is not interested in this type of business and stood firm against Juve’s progress. But the Italian giants are sure to secure a transfer, which means it can only be a matter of time before he makes the move to Turin.

Liverpool have also expressed their interest in Locatelli, but that assignment seems to have come too late.
