At the headquarters of PACT, the party of candidate Makalé Traoré, almost all the failed candidates are represented. All that is missing is Laye Souleymane Diallo, ruled out to congratulate President Alpha Condé on his re-election, according to one of the organizers.

Makalé Traoré reads the statement: “The participants were unanimous in acknowledging that the ballot paper was marred by serious irregularities. […] In view of the serious irregularities recorded before, during and after the elections, the participants categorically decided to reject the preliminary results proclaimed by Ceni Saturday, October 24 at the People’s Palace, the candidate declares. The candidates have decided to lodge an appeal with the Constitutional Court and appeal to this Court to show objectivity and responsibility in the handling of electoral conflicts. “

Call to interrupt protests

Candidates have until the beginning of next week to individually file their appeals. Until then Cellou Dalein Diallo, who came in second place according to the official results, but who declared himself the winner according to his own vote count, demands that the demonstrations be suspended: “We must give the families time to mourn. We must also allow the people to store basic necessities. ”

In a press release, Ceni confirms that the centralization operations have not suffered “under any distortion”. The decision of the Constitutional Court cannot be appealed.
