South Africa commemorates its Freedom Day, marking thirty years since the first multiracial elections. This election brought the ANC and Nelson Mandela to power as the country’s first black president. Three decades later, the dream of a rainbow nation, the ANC remains in power, but like this ceremony, the party leaves a mixed impression.
