A late-night stabbing on a major west London road has left 22-year-old Haruun Hassan dead, despite efforts by emergency crews to save him at the scene.
London (AX) — Police have named the Somali-origin man killed in Hounslow as Haruun Hassan, 22, as detectives continue to investigate the fatal attack.
The Metropolitan Police said officers responded at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Bath Road and Great South-West Road in Hounslow.
Paramedics and other emergency personnel treated Hassan where he was found, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No arrests have been reported.
A double-decker bus was inside the police cordon at the crime scene, and investigators are urging anyone who was aboard the bus or nearby when the attack happened to contact police.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, who is heading the inquiry, said officers are determined to establish who was behind the killing.
“Our thoughts remain with Haruun’s family during this tremendously difficult time,” Waller said.
“We know there were a number of people on the bus at this time, and we urge those people, or anyone with information, to contact police as a matter of urgency,” he said.
Detectives are pursuing several lines of inquiry, and the case remains active, Waller said.
“We are committed to identifying and apprehending those responsible for Haruun’s death,” he said.
