Jadon Sancho wears jersey number 25

Manchester United have announced that Jadon Sancho will wear the club’s jersey number 25 after being officially announced as a Red Devils player.

Many had assumed that the former Dortmund man would award the jersey number seven – a squad number that has become iconic at the club after the success of players such as George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

But United have now taken to their official website to confirm that Sancho will make number 25 from the start of the 2021/22 season.

“Manchester United can confirm that the new signing Jadon Sancho will wear jersey number 25 after joining the club on a five-year deal. The 21-year-old completed his move from Borussia Dortmund earlier today and will be with the Reds until June. 2026, with the possibility of another year.

“And after endless speculation about what United squad number the England international could get, we can finally reveal that 25 will be his.”

The Red Devils finally announced Sancho’s arrival at Old Trafford after a transfer story that seemed to never end.

Following the official announcement, the English international admitted that he could not wait to represent the club and that he appreciates the idea of ​​playing in front of United fans.
