The main part of the station had been shut since March 8 after the blaze destroyed much of the adjacent building, and it has now reopened in part.
Network Rail previously said the partial reopening would operate with reduced capacity and urged passengers to check journey times before traveling. It also told passengers the station would look different and said staff would be on hand to offer advice.
Glasgow City Council said it is in the interests of public safety to demolish what remains of the Victorian building, and demolition specialists have been working to safely take down unstable sections.
The fire began in a vape shop on Union Street and spread through the building and around the corner, leaving only the facade at the junction with Gordon Street standing.
Services on the station’s lower level resumed last week.
ScotRail said stringent safety checks were carried out ahead of the partial reopening.
ScotRail chief operating officer David Ross previously said:
“I am very pleased we will be able to welcome customers back to Glasgow Central.
“We realise the closure is causing significant disruption for our customers, and we’re very sorry for the impact it is still having on journeys.”
