The arrival of Sergio Ramos was officially announced
Sergio Ramos has been officially announced as a Paris Saint-Germain player after signing a two-year contract at the club.
The Spaniard had been in talks with Real Madrid about the possibility of extending his deal at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this year, but after deciding on the last hour, he wanted to accept the one-year offer, the defender claimed he was told it was too late and the offer had been withdrawn.
Since his departure from Real, there have been a number of European clubs linked with the veteran defender, with Manchester United one of those credited with an interest.
Much has been made of Ramos’ recent poor injury record – with the Spanish defender only playing one game in his last two seasons in Spain – although PSG have decided to play and have now officially announced their arrival in Paris.
Ramos completed a medicine on Tuesday and has now signed a two-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2023.
The arrival of Ramos is just the latest in a slew of new faces at the Parc des Princes this summer and it definitely does not look like the last.

PSG have already secured the free signing of Georginio Wijnaldum after the Dutchman’s contract with Liverpool expired, while Achraf Hakimi was also announced as PSG player this week.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is currently on international duty with Italy at Euro 2020, although he is also expected to sign for PSG on a free transfer this summer – probably a signing that will be confirmed some time after the end of Italy’s European Championship campaign.
PSG will have managed to recruit three incredible talents for free this summer throughout the years if the signing of Donnarumma is rubber-stamped, which means that there should be plenty of transfer funds left when they look to strengthen their group even further.
