Promoted: Lijnders Steps Up to Lead Salzburg Alongside Klopp

After nearly a decade supporting Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, Pep Lijnders will now lead a team himself. Lijnders’ move to Salzburg is official, marking a new chapter in his coaching career. Beginning in 2014 with Liverpool’s youth teams, he quickly rose to a prominent role. Working closely with Klopp, Lijnders has been instrumental in Liverpool’s success. Now, after leaving Liverpool with Klopp, Lijnders is excited to take on the challenge at Salzburg. He’s thrilled to join such a well-structured club that focuses on youth development. Lijnders aims to instill an attacking mentality and a hunger for success in his new team. His decision to join Salzburg was influenced by the city’s beauty and the warmth of its people. This managerial opportunity at Salzburg is Lijnders’ second, following a stint at NEC Nijmegen. Vitor Matos from Liverpool will be joining Lijnders as his assistant at Salzburg. They step in for Gerhard Struber, recently let go by Salzburg. The departing Liverpool staff, including Klopp, will bid farewell at Anfield against Wolves.
