Manchester United Announces Departure of Team Captain Katie Zelem

Katie Zelem bids adieu to Manchester United after a stint of six years.

Zelem, a stalwart for England, has been pivotal in United’s rise to the WSL since her inaugural season.

With 32 goals from 161 games, she captained United to their first Women’s FA Cup victory in the 2023-24 season.

The 28-year-old is now on the cusp of exploring new horizons, following teammate Lucia Garcia who is also leaving after her contract concludes.

“Manchester United extends heartfelt gratitude to Katie for her distinguished contributions and wishes her all the best for her forthcoming ventures,” stated the club.

Alongside Zelem and Garcia, it seems Mary Earps, the renowned England goalkeeper, might also depart for Paris Saint-Germain post-contract.
