the opposition launches a protest marketing campaign

The investment of the elected Nigerian President, Mohamed Bazoum, will be held on Friday, April 2. The failed candidate, Mahamane Ousmane, continues to reject the result of the second round of the February 21 presidential election. On Monday, March 29, the leader of the opposition party RDR-Tchanji announced a new legal measure and called on his supporters to demonstrate peacefully from Tuesday.

The decision to demonstrate was taken on Sunday, March 28, along with his allies. Gathered in an extraordinary session, the CAP 20-21 coalition, like Mahamane Ousmane, like the other opposition formations, relies on popular mobilization to fight the victory they believe has been stolen by the ruling party, the PNDS, and its candidate, Mohamed Bazoum, at the end of the second round of the presidential election on February 21, 2021.

One week ago, the day after the election results of the Constitutional Court, Mahamane Ousmane had already demanded a peaceful march. A call that was not followed, as it was launched in a solitary manner, as a result of the president of RDR-Tchanji. Speak now with one voice, the unfortunate candidate and his partners hope to mobilize in all cities of the country. The Allies also demand the release of their prisoners, including opposition figure Hama Amadou.

Walks prohibited by the authorities

Currently, and according to RDR-Tchanji, the main regions of the country have responded to the march on Tuesday, with the exception of the capital Niamey, which announces that it will take the street from Wednesday. Marches for which the organizers did not ask for permission, because the authorities chose to ban them all, they say.

The latest demonstrations had caused several injuries and two deaths in Niamey, according to the Interior Ministry.
