Mohamud said the developments underscored Hirshabelle’s leadership’s push to improve government services, strengthen economic infrastructure and widen access to public services for residents.

He also laid the foundation stone for the future headquarters of the Hirshabelle Civil Service Commission, along with additional government facilities.

Officials said the planned buildings are intended to bolster governance, improve transparency in public institutions and help deliver social services more effectively.

Guudlawe described the projects as part of a wider development drive underway across Hirshabelle.

Later Thursday night, a celebration was held at the new Hirshabelle presidency to recognize the projects and honor Mohamud and his delegation.

The event drew federal and regional officials, among them ministers, lawmakers, former leaders, traditional elders, women’s representatives, artists and other invited guests.
