Guillaume Soro calls on the defense and security forces
The task continues between the Ivorian power and its resistance. This Wednesday night, former rebel leader Guillaume Soro in exile in Paris called on the Defense and Security Forces to “act”. While several opposition leaders are under house arrest, he said he was ready to proceed with the “transition”.

In this speech, broadcast on social networks, Guillaume Soro repeatedly reaffirms the opposition’s view of the vacancy of the president’s power. He announces that he is ready to continue the implementation of the transition since his exile. He also appeals to the composite bodies and to the Defense and Security Forces, which he asks to act.
“I ask you soldiers, non-commissioned officers, senior officers and non-commissioned officers in our army to look at you in the mirror of your soul and your conscience and act to stop the killings, to preserve our country against pogroms, to maintain peace and harmony. Take action to restore our constitution to its nobility. ”
Words of “extreme gravity” for the government
For the deputy’s spokesman, Mamadou Touré, this speech is not acceptable: “Guillaume Soros’ comments are extremely serious. Guillaume Soro is part of a logic of sedition. Guillaume Soro has been following a coup for several years now. Negotiations against him are taking place in Côte d’Ivoire regarding his attempt to destabilize. Guillaume Soro has apparently not given up. Furthermore, we are surprised that these comments could be made on French territory, and we hope that the French authorities will respond. ”
Guillaume Soro, the minister concludes, cannot continue to use French territory with impunity to destabilize Côte d’Ivoire.
