In Sudan, one of the two female members of the Sovereign Council – the body leading the country’s transition – has resigned. Aisha Moussa El Saeed condemns the exclusion of civilians from institutions.

Sudan’s sovereign council,consists of 14 members – civilians and soldiers – led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. The members swore in August 2019.

English teacher and activist Aisha Moussa Saeed has been one of the most critical of the military regime led by General al-Burhan, two protesters on May 11, ten days ago … They celebrated the bloody spread of a demonstration leading to ex-President Omar al-Bashir two years ago.
