The facts took place on Thursday, June 3, in a military camp in Moussoro, a city 293 kilometers north of Ndjamena in the Bahr El Ghazel department. In the morning, a fight broke out in a military camp on the outskirts of Moussoro. Various sources evoke a recruitment to the presidential guard that would have gone badly.

Some recruits from Ndjamena and other provinces in the country say they are victims of discrimination. After being accepted, they are said to have finally been fired by the supervisor responsible for recruitment. The reason: they would not belong to the Zaghawa community, where the military hierarchy and the Deby clan came from.
