MOGADISHU, Somalia – A tragic event unfolded in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle area when a civilian vehicle hit a landmine, claiming three lives and injuring another, as shared by local officials on Monday.
The unfortunate incident took place in Doonka, nestled on the road linking Wanlaweyn and Afgooye, while the vehicle was traveling from Afgooye, according to statements from local authorities.
This explosive device, identified as a landmine, is a common method of wreaking havoc used by militant factions in the region. To this day, no group has stepped forward to take responsibility for this ruthless act.
