This exquisite instrument, belonging to a member of the London Philharmonia Orchestra, is reported to have been stolen from The Marquess Tavern on Canonbury Street on February 18.

The owner, a 30-year-old musician, promptly informed the Metropolitan Police about the incident that same evening.

PC Michael Collins, part of the Met’s local policing team in Camden, shared, “We’ve been working diligently to locate the suspect and are now releasing this CCTV footage in hope of identifying them as quickly as possible.”

The Metropolitan Police has issued images of the individual they wish to question regarding the theft of this invaluable violin.

“The victim has expressed the violin’s significant value, stating it’s worth more than £150,000 and was crafted in Florence in 1740,” Collins noted. “It’s incredibly precious, and to the owner, it holds an immeasurable sentimental value.”

Every effort is being made to recover this cherished instrument, and any information from the community would be invaluable in bringing the case to a resolution.
