“As my inadvertent social media post has indicated, I am currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Unlike my mobile phone use, the treatment is going well,” the 75-year-old Scot wrote on Instagram.

“Ideally, this would have remained private because that’s the way it should be, but my useless technology skills have forced my hand.

Dalglish made more than 200 appearances for Celtic before sealing his move to Liverpool in 1977

Across 13 seasons with the Reds, he scored 172 goals and helped deliver six league titles and three European Cups during one of the club’s most successful eras.

He then returned to lead Liverpool from the dugout, steering the Anfield club to three league titles and two FA Cups in the 1980s.

Another former Liverpool striking star, Kevin Keegan, said Monday that he has stage four cancer.
