Ten Hag Regrets Man United’s Failed Pursuit of Kane

Last year, rumors linked Manchester United to Harry Kane, and Erik ten Hag reveals he was their preferred striker choice.

Erik ten Hag confirmed Manchester United’s interest in Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich and scored 43 goals in his Bundesliga debut season.

Instead of signing Kane, United brought in Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. Though he struggled initially in the Premier League, Hojlund has since netted 14 goals in all competitions, including eight in the top-flight.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Ten Hag emphasized the need for outstanding players at Manchester United due to high expectations and pressure to win every game.

While Ten Hag did not name Kane specifically, he hinted at the English striker being their desired target. He praised Hojlund’s potential despite acknowledging that he needs time to adapt.

Although Hojlund encountered some physical setbacks, Ten Hag remains optimistic about the young talent’s future at the club. He emphasized the importance of patience and development in nurturing emerging players.
