Ronaldo Leads Star-Studded Portugal Lineup for Euro 2024 Showdown

Cristiano Ronaldo boasts 33 goals in the Saudi Pro League this season. He will spearhead Portugal’s efforts in Germany for a second European title.

In his 11th major international competition, Ronaldo will represent Portugal at Euro 2024. He did not retire after Portugal’s shocking exit at the hands of Morocco in the 2022 World Cup.

Ronaldo’s 14 European Championship goals set a record, surpassing Michel Platini by five goals. He aims to further extend this lead in Germany.

Portugal, undefeated in all 10 qualifiers, with 36 goals, will begin their Group F journey against the Czech Republic, followed by matches against Turkey and Georgia.

Roberto Martinez’s squad does not hold many surprises, with notable omissions like Manchester City’s Matheus Nunes and Renato Sanches.

Despite missing the end of the Bundesliga season due to injury, Bayern Munich’s Raphael Guerreiro is absent from the squad, whereas Wolves’ Pedro Neto makes the cut after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Ten English Premier League players, including Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, have been selected.

Martinez has opted not to name an extended squad, finalizing his selection of 26 players directly. His team will face Finland, Croatia, and the Republic of Ireland in friendly matches.

The full 26-man squad includes players from top clubs like Porto, Wolves, Barcelona, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Liverpool, Fulham, and Milan.
