Rangers launches 150th anniversary home jersey for 2021/22

Rangers have launched a brand new Castore home jersey for the 2021/22 season that celebrates the club’s 150th anniversary with inspiration from some iconic patterns from the past.

Rangers was founded in 1872 and the new season’s anniversary shirt has a gold club coat of arms to celebrate the massive milestone that most British clubs have not yet reached.

The blue shirt has a classic V-neck design reminiscent of the Rangers jerseys of the 1950s and 1960s and legendary players like Jim Baxter, while the thin white needles pay homage to kits from the early 1980s and the like like Davie Cooper.

A band under the gold mark is in the style of the memorial mosaic at Ibrox’s Bill Struth Main Stand. The weapon itself is larger than normal, with five stars representing the club’s “First to Fifty” league titles relocated to the back of the shirt.

Although inspired by history, the new Rangers shirt is made with state-of-the-art light, high stretch and breathable fabric that helps maximize performance and comfort.

After winning the Scottish Premiership title last season for the first time in a decade, Rangers are preparing for another huge 2021/22 season.

After impressing the 16-year-olds in the Europa League for consecutive seasons, Steven Gerrard’s side is back in the Champions League for the first time since 2011 when they were knocked out in the qualifiers by Malmö in Sweden.

The Scottish champions, who last reached the group stage in 2010/11, will take part in the competition in the third qualifier, which will be played in early August. The last playoff before the group stage takes place at the end of that month.
