Juventus Fires Manager Allegri Over Conduct During Coppa Italia Final

Juventus has fired Massimiliano Allegri, with just two games left in the Serie A season. Allegri’s behavior during the Copa Italia final was a key factor in the decision.

Allegri guided Juve to a 1-0 victory over Atalanta in the cup final, securing their first major title since 2021. Highlighting their sixth Copa win in the last decade, Allegri became the most successful coach in the history of the tournament.

Despite their cup success, Juve’s poor form in the second half of the 2023-24 Serie A season sealed Allegri’s fate. The team’s failure to secure a top-four finish after a run of five consecutive draws ended his tenure.

Following the decision, Juventus stated that Allegri’s behavior during and after the final was unacceptable. The club emphasized that his actions were not in line with the values of Juventus and the expectations for those representing the team.

Thiago Motta, who guided Bologna to Champions League qualification, is a leading candidate to replace Allegri. Allegri’s position has been in question for the past few months, ultimately leading to his dismissal.
