Berhalter Asserts: Team USA Prioritizes Stellar Performance Over Final Score in Upcoming Clash with Brazil

The United States men’s soccer team concludes their Copa America tune-up with a match against Brazil. Coach Gregg Berhalter aims to leave the memory of their recent setback against Colombia in the dust.

Under the watchful gaze of Coach Berhalter, the U.S. squad was dealt a heavy 5-1 thrashing by Colombia in Maryland, marking their worst defeat since 2016.

In a swift and crushing blow, Colombia netted thrice within 11 minutes in the latter half, reigniting doubts among fans regarding the team’s capacity to hold their own against the world’s premier squads.

As they gear up to face the five-time World Cup champions, Berhalter has made it clear that the squad will stick to the original game plan for the upcoming 48th Copa America.

“Gleaning insights about Brazil and assessing our roster are critical, necessitating boldness and adherence to our strategy,” Berhalter articulated.

“Despite the disheartening 5-1 home loss, our focus is squarely on readying this assembly for the Copa America,” he added.

The team kicks off their Group C contest against Bolivia, historic 1963 champions, followed by clashes with Panama and Uruguay, aiming to echo their 2016 semi-final success.

Berhalter remains committed to honing skills rather than fixating on outcomes in the upcoming showdown with Brazil in Florida, acknowledging his team’s futile attempts to best Brazil since 1998, with an aggregate scoreline of 8-28 against them.

“Post-game, if we can discern nearly a full squad performing at eight out of 10, that’ll suffice,” he proclaimed.

“Acknowledging Brazil’s prowess, our goal is to elevate our play and rival such esteemed adversaries,” he concluded.
