the Constitutional Court confirms the re-election of Alpha Condé for a third term

Alpha Condé was finally proclaimed, on Saturday, November 7, Guinea’s president for a third term in a row, 82 years old, after months of a protest that cost dozens of civilian lives.

It is therefore the final results, this time, that have just been announced by the Constitutional Court.

Results that confirm, by correcting them a lot, preliminary results: 59.50% of the vote, this is the final result of outgoing President Alpha Condé, who was therefore re-elected in the first round.

The court therefore studied and then rejected the appeals which the four candidates – including the main challenger Cellou Dalein Diallo – usually submitted for lack of evidence in support of their complaint, acknowledging only a benign error in the city of Fria. but it does not question the final results.

As this verdict cannot be appealed, President Alpha Condé is elected for a third term at the head of the country, a term of six years.

His candidacy for his own legacy had given rise to months of protests and violence that killed dozens of people, almost all civilians.
