Guinea: the brand new nationwide frontline technique for

In Guinea, the National Front for Defense of the Constitution (FNDC) is pursuing its transformation: one year after the referendum on 22 March 2020, which resulted in a modification of the disputed constitution, it continues to condemn “a coup” and is still opposed to a third period of President Alpha Condé. At the same time, this movement, which brings together opposition parties and civil society, seeks to broaden its commitment to more social demands.

After months of discussions, the FNDC is implementing a change: its national coordination, consisting of nine members, is now run exclusively by civil society activists. An allusion to some opposition leaders who have openly addressed the presidential movement in recent days and effectively refrain from debating the president’s third term, which the FNDC continues to reject a group.

Social demands

From now on, the FNDC intends to use its energy on social demands to reach more Guineans: this movement is particularly interested in rising food prices, unemployment and corruption.
