Mogadishu (AX) — On a bustling Sunday, the Somali Police Force rounded up 24 youngsters after some hubbub broke out during a district footy showdown at Eng. Yariisow Stadium. Matches between Karaan and Wadajir districts, just a slice of the Banadir region’s ongoing football fest, faced a bit of chaos. Authorities said the nabbed group engaged in shenanigans threatening public order and causing a scene during the match.

The Somali Police Command relayed in a wordy dispatch that its Banadir Regional Police Unit spearheaded the sweep. “We collared 24 folks for sparking trouble at Eng. Yariisow Stadium. Their antics flouted public peace and shattered the spectator code,” their note declared. The police are digging deeper, with the caught fellows destined for the courts.

The blue force dished out some sage advice to those hitting up public doings, especially sports galas. “Steer clear of antics that could give public safety a black eye, and mind the ground rules,” they counseled in their announcement.
