Pascal Affi N’Guessan’s lawyers step on the plate
Pascal Affi N’Guessan’s lawyers condemn the “arbitrary detention” and “isolation” of his client, which they have not been able to access since November 9, when he first appeared before the judge.
The leader of the FPI, which is recognized by the Ivorian authorities, is accused, as are other leaders of the opposition, of the arrest, for “conspiracy against state security”, following the declaration of a transitional presidency of Henri Konan Bédié, of which he is a spokesman.
His lawyers have not seen him since, do not even know where he is, despite statements from the prosecutor assuring them that the political leader is good.
Maître Pierre Dagbo Godé is one of Pascal Affi N’Guessan’s lawyers, he asks for the application of the Code of Conduct and ensures that proceedings begin on Monday.
We ask ourselves questions: is he in custody in Abidjan or inland? We do not know […] In an isolation that has no legal basis, it is time for the law to be respected with regard to it.
