The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected allegations that Liberia’s diplomatic pouch or official communication channels were used to enable a major smuggling operation, as claims circulating on social media intersect with an ongoing investigation into large-scale cocaine seizures.
“These accusations are entirely false, unsupported by any credible evidence, and appear calculated to undermine public confidence in the Government of Liberia’s coordinated efforts to combat transnational organized crime,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry cautioned that disseminating disinformation could compromise the investigations under way and damage Liberia’s national interests.
