In Guinea, the alarm call from those close to Oumar Sylla,
This Guinean activist, also known as Foniké Menguè, is an official of the Tournons la page and the National Front for Defense of the Constitution, FNDC.
Oumar Sylla was forcibly arrested on the streets of Conakry in September last year while trying to mobilize citizens for a demonstration against the proposed third term of President Alpha Condé, finally re-elected in October last year. Since then, the activist has still been imprisoned and his health has deteriorated, much to the concern of his family and relatives.
Sékou Koundouno, FNDC’s Chief Strategy Officer, testified about his great concern for his friend.
If he continues to be maintained on the side of the central house in Conakry, Oumar Sylla could lose his life. […] All that will happen to this critical and dramatic situation will be no more than the responsibility of Mr Alpha Condé, who is doing everything in his power to silence all dissonant voices in the country.
On the question from RFI, the Ministry of Justice at this stage did not want to talk about the subject. .
