The Association of Former Conscripts in Algeria is trying

If the Algerian war deeply affected a generation of Frenchmen, it is also because every family was confronted with it, by conscripts being sent from the contingent. About 1.5 million young people did all or part of their military service there, for what were then called “pacification” operations.
