Somali Clans Forge Initial Pact to Halt Deadly Conflict in Galgadud

Dhusamareb (AX) – Ahmed Abdi Kariye, the head honcho of Galmudug, along with elders from two feuding clans in the Galgadud area, have hashed out a truce to halt the bloodshed pronto.

President Kariye, after surveying the battle zones, sat down with brainy folks and chieftains from both camps to iron out a swift remedy for the fracas, which claimed 55 lives and left more than 60 folks injured.

The trio inked a deal: lay down arms ASAP and team up with the security peeps; divide the warring squads; and gear up for a peace summit in Dhusamareb, Galmudug’s hub.

Galmudug’s Info Czar, Abshir Abdi Shikhow, tied the clashes to a beef over grazing turf and water, fingering the Dir and Marihan clans as the main perpetrators.
