Saleh Kebzabo responds to Yaya Dillo Djerou’s criticism of

In Chad, the organizing committee for the “inclusive national dialogue” – which should lead to the elections and end the transitional period – was set up on Saturday 14 August. It consists of about 70 members and is therefore responsible for organizing the national dialogue at the end of the year. For the critics heard, Saleh Kebzabo answers step by step.

Yaya Dillo Djerou, coordinator of the New Front for Change Alliance, believes that the composition of the committee is not sufficiently balanced.

“We will not go to … scornful dialogue, we will participate in the dialogue if and only if a valid committee, accepted by all, has been set up.

We proposed the establishment of a joint organizing committee consisting of 35% for the credible democratic opposition, 30% for civil society and 35% for organizations close to the CNT, which were not retained.

The committee, in its configuration, consists of 95% of the caciquesMPS, people who worked under the regime of President Déby’s father and who are still close to the current president of the Transitional Military Committee. It does not provide credibility and it does not guarantee transparency in the work of the future dialogue. “

Saleh Kebzabo, the leader of the opposition under Idriss Déby and several times as presidential candidate, was appointed vice chairman of this organizing committee for the national dialogue on Saturday. He denies the allegations of non-neutrality and non-representativeness of this committee …

“I take up this statement, and I can say with the utmost confidence that the 70 people are representative of our society. Both in political parties, in civil society associations and in other branches of society.

When you’re not in a group, in general, you think it’s bad, and when you’re there, you say it’s great. I think we simply have to follow what we do, (not) reject it. ”

RFI: you therefore assure them of the Committee’s willingness to involve them in this dialogue

“It is clear that there is no viable dialogue if it excludes any category of Chadians. We want a truly inclusive dialogue that appeals to all Chadians. And it is for this reason that we support this historic company. I believe that every Chadian has a duty to come and lay his stone without it being something urgent, without any precondition. ”

Yaya Dillo Djerou and Saleh Kebzabo are interviewed by Charlotte Cosset, from the African editorial office.
