a scattered Transformers march

A march, known as a “parade march”, was violently spread on Saturday 12 December by the police in Ndjamena. The opposition party had called on its activists to whistle morning and evening as they walked in pairs on the capital’s streets to explain the vision of their formation.

as reported from Ndjamena, Madjiasra Nako

Early this Saturday morning, a large police force was dispatched around Transformer’s headquarters. After a while, the police withdrew to adjacent streets. And the hundred people who left the headquarters were stopped a few dozen meters away by tear gas canisters.

Transformers President Succès Masra, extracted from the demonstration by his security services, does not understand the ban against him:

“While the current president is campaigning, we would not even have the right to express opposing ideas and offer the nation a choice. If so, what do we offer the Chadian people? ”

According to the police spokesman, the demonstration was not allowed. All events, regardless of their nature, are governed by law during this period of emergency. Worse, the organizers of the demonstration mobilized young people in different parts of the city this morning to whistle. For us, this constitutes a disturbance of public order, explains Commissioner Paul Manga.

The leader of Transformers Succès Masra is excluded from the presidential race in April 2021 due to the age limit under the new constitution … set at 40 years. Masra’s success is only 38. His supporters have stated that they will organize demonstrations of peaceful resistance to force the authorities to open the political game.
