Somali Foreign Minister Pushes Forward Talks on Establishing Indian Visa Assistance Hub in Mogadishu
Mogadishu (AX) – So, here’s the scoop: Somali Foreign Minister and International Cooperation guru, Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, just had a pow-wow with a crew from the Indian High Commission based out of Nairobi. What’s the word on the street? They’re putting the final touches on opening a swanky new visa facilitation center right in good ol’ Mogadishu.
On Monday, this was trumpeted by the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The session was also graced by the presence of Said Jama Mire, who runs the Asia and Australia Department with great finesse. This was yet another milestone in an ongoing saga to jazz up the whole visa application rigmarole for folks in Somalia.
The gist of this brainstorm is to cater to the buzzing need for jaunts to India, all in the name of health. How, you ask? By knocking out the old ritual of hopping over to neighboring hotspots like Kenya and Ethiopia for visa matters. This nifty move is set to slash those dreaded travel expenses and trim down those pesky processing jams, big time.
“Our government is dead set on clearing the path for Somali folks seeking medical help in India,” Minister Fiqi was quoted as saying, wearing his heart on his sleeve.
Setting up this joint is like laying bricks to fortify the bridge between Somalia and India, beefing up camaraderie in good stuff like healthcare and trade. Thousands of Somali people currently dance to a drawn-out tune when it comes to snagging Indian visas, making this initiative quite the strategic ace.
This project hints at a bright prospect, a step towards smoother collaboration, and, stick a pin in it, a game-changer for bilateral vibes. It’s all about nixing those visa headaches and bringing a bit of ease for Somalis traveling for health remedies across Indian borders.
