Northeastern State Affirms Full Operation of Bosaso Airport Despite Recent PSF Alert
Bosaso (AX) – The Northeastern State regional administration has reiterated that Bosaso airport remains secure, welcoming both domestic and international flights, following a brief closure prompted by a Northeastern State Security Force (PSF) warning.
On Monday, the Northeastern State Ministry of Aviation confirmed the airport’s full operational status, asserting there are no security threats at Bosaso airport.
The ministry stated that aircraft, both from within the country and abroad, successfully landed and departed the day before.
The Aviation Ministry also rejected claims that no flights had landed at the airport for several days.
Yet, it was noted that certain airlines had decided against landing at Bosaso, citing security fears. The Northeastern State Security Force maintains a military base near the airport, causing some airlines to worry about potential risks.
Last week, the PSF warned airlines and instructed nearby residents to evacuate, highlighting a conflict over the airport’s management. The PSF accused the current administration of obstructing injured soldiers from accessing the facility and demanded the return of management to previous administrators. The PSF stressed that the airport should serve all Northeastern State residents.
