Brooke Burke reveals that she has had problems staying in shape in the form of a pandemic:

If you’ve had trouble sticking to your exercise routine in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, you’re far from alone. Although they have personal trainers and home gyms at their disposal, celebrities have also found it challenging to stay in shape – and fitness expert, TV personality and actor Brooke Burke is no exception. In an exclusive interview with Eat this, not that!, Burke opens up about his relative struggle to stay motivated over the past year.

When asked if she thought it was harder to stick to training in the middle of the pandemic, Burke answers candidly: “To be honest, yes.”

“Let’s face it: fitness can be boring and not everyone loves it,” says the star with several dashes.

Burke, who recently launched a Summer Slim Down series through her Brooke Burke Body app, says that not having the friendship she usually finds in the gym was one of the biggest adjustments for her.

“The warmth and intensity of being in a large class differs from the home experience,” she admits, noting that she especially missed going to personal SoulCycle and yoga classes among COVID lockers. However, Burke says she has a new appreciation for training at home.

“I believe in the digital gym at home,” she says. “The benefits are more effective for both time and money. I have to train smarter and harder to sweat. My apps in the Brooke Burke Body app do just that.”

“I have learned to embrace the burns, long for the sweat and understand the benefits of pushing through a workout and the energy it creates.”

Despite the challenges of juggling a hectic schedule and navigating life at home during COVID (with four children to take care of, no less), Burke says she has scored a point to maintain her well-being – and “me-time” her training routine gives – a top priority during this challenging period.

“Time has always been an excuse, so I have had to design a life plan that works for me,” she says. “I have been forced to put myself at the top of my to-do list.”
