Exchange with prisoners of war was the goal of the visit to the Klessoum prison in Casidho. According to this civil society organization close to power, 505 actual rebels are being held there under conditions which it considers to be correct.

“The prisoners have expressed delays in care. When it comes to food, they said it was a bit difficult at first, but the situation recovered. But above all, they want the legal process to move forward very quickly, because they want to be firm in their fate, “reports Mahamat Digadimbaye, the national coordinator for Casidho.

“We have contacts within Klessoum’s detention center who have informed us that these comrades who no longer answer the call have been removed from their cells for an unknown destination,” explains Kemba Didah Alain, coordinator of Mouvement Citoyen le Time. There are persistent rumors about their summary execution of security forces.

Accusations are repeatedly denied by Defense Minister Daoud Yaya Brahim. On the justice side, prosecutor Tom Youssouf says that 23 prisoners, including rebel leaders, are being interviewed at the gendarmerie, without giving more details, the investigation is still ongoing.
