According to N1 TV, the catastrophe has claimed 21 lives, with many more individuals still unaccounted for in the Jablanica region, situated approximately 70 kilometers southwest of Sarajevo.
“Several villages remain inaccessible at this point, and the uncertainty of what awaits us there is concerning,” stated a representative from the Mountain Rescue Service, whose teams are actively participating in the recovery efforts.
Heavy rainfall overnight initially brought the search efforts to a halt, as reported by local media. However, once the skies cleared, the teams promptly resumed their crucial work. In Donja Jablanica, numerous homes lay buried beneath heaps of rubble.
In response to the floods, the Bosnian Football Association (NFSBIH) announced the postponement of all scheduled matches, recognizing the gravity of the situation.
