Paris Saint-Germain Shuts Down Hosts’ Top-Four Hopes with Teen Sensation Zague’s Winning Goal

It was a tale of no Kylian Mbappe, no hassle for Paris Saint-Germain, as 18-year-old Yoram Zague scored in their victory at Nice. PSG defeated Nice with a score of 2-1 on Wednesday in Ligue 1, ensuring no top-four finish for the hosts.

Bradley Barcola netted the first goal for Luis Enrique’s team in the 18th minute, followed by Yoram Zague’s goal just five minutes later. Nice managed to score before halftime due to some sluggish PSG play, with Jeremie Boga assisting Mohamed-Ali Cho.

However, Nice’s chances of equalizing were crushed when Melvin Bard received a red card in the 75th minute for a harsh foul on Barcola. The youngster gave a spirited performance in place of the rested Mbappe, as PSG prepares for a future without him.

PSG has secured the title and is gearing up for the Coupe de France final against Lyon on May 25, sitting comfortably at 73 points. Meanwhile, Nice is in fifth place with 54 points, trailing fourth-placed Brest by four points, thus ruling out a Champions League qualification.

Zague marked his 18th birthday by scoring his first goal for PSG, becoming the youngest player to score on his birthday in Ligue 1 in the last 75 years.
