Kylian Mbappe becomes EA Sports’ cover star on FIFA 22

EA Sports has announced that Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe will play on the cover of FIFA 22.

Although he is still only 22 years old, the Frenchman has established himself as one of the best players in the world and is already proclaimed as one of the most likely stars to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as a dominant force in the beautiful game.

Mbappe has now been confirmed as FIFA’s cover star for the second season in a row, with EA Sports releasing a brief statement to confirm the news before acknowledging the youngster’s achievement.

“Today, EA SPORTS has officially revealed the Paris Saint-Germain striker and global football icon, Kylian MbappE, as an athlete for FIFA 22,” the statement said.

“As one of the game’s brightest young stars, Mbappe represents the next generation of iconic football players and perfectly embodies the global FIFA community through his commitment to a positive impact on the growth of modern football.

“Mbappe graces the cover for the second year in a row, making him one of the few to earn back-to-back cover star status alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.”

The cover star Mbappe himself gave a short statement and expressed his joy at being named on the cover of such a famous game for the second year in a row.

“Being back-to-back FIFA covers is fantastic,” he said. “I have a very special relationship with the game and look forward to enjoying FIFA 22 with you all.”

There is not much going on in football these days that fans do not read intensely, and speculation has already surfaced on social media that Mbappe is on the cover of FIFA 22 in a PSG shirt meaning he will definitely stay in Paris after this summer .

We can shoot that theory down right away. Gareth Bale was named FIFA 14’s cover star back in 2013 along with Messi, with the Welshman pictured in his Tottenham kit.

Later that summer, however, he secured a mega money move to Real Madrid, so EA Sports only changed the cover so that he was wearing a real kit.
