The Son Heung-min strike gave Spurs all three points against the champions, with Harry Kane absent during the match between his current side and his desired club.

Wolves are also under new management, with Bruno Lage taking over from Santo after the latter left at the end of the 2020/21 season. They started their campaign with a 1-0 defeat in Leicester.

Here is a 90 minute preview of the meeting.

The Wolves welcomed Raul Jimenez for his first league game since his head injury last year, while new signings Jose Sa and Francisco Trincao made their competitive debut.

The trio will probably start again for the home team but Daniel Podence, Willy Boly, Jonny Otto and Pedro Neto are all missing due to injury.

Nuno Espirito Santo revealed ahead of Thursday’s Europa Conference League qualifier against Pacos de Ferreira that not a player who played in the victory over Manchester City would start in Portugal.

It was true even though Nuno might have wished he had adopted a different pace after going down to a shocking 1-0 defeat. Currently, Harry Kane has been working on his fitness throughout the week, although his commitment to Wolves is likely to come from the bench.

That should lead to another starting top for Son Heung-min, flanked by Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura.

Wolves: Sa; Kilman, Coady, Saiss; Hoever, Neves, Moutinho, Marcal; Trincao, Jimenez, Traore.

Tottenham: Lloris; Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Dele; Lucas, Son, Bergwijn.

Tottenham’s opening bubble was good and really good after slipping in the middle of the week, but it is important to apply perspective on the result.

Nuno kept his main first team players fresh until the trip to Molineux was the right conversation, especially since the home team had to bounce back after losing to Leicester. The Wolves struggled to get into the game at King Power while the Spurs more than deserved their win against Manchester City; absorbs the pressure well before taking the opportunity to snatch all three points.

The visitors are undefeated in their last five visits to Black Country, by the way, and it is a record that can be extended with a narrow win.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Tottenham
