How to watch TV & live stream in UK / USA

Wales face Denmark in Amsterdam this weekend in the first match of the knockout stages at Euro 2020.

While Robert Pay’s side went into the last 16 on the back of their first defeat in the championship, Denmark enters it after producing an excellent performance against the Russians.

The Danes have speed, but unlike their opponents, they could not rotate players in their last group match so it remains to be seen if new legs or confidence will win.

Although you can argue that it is far from being the glamor of the round, it is one of the most evenly balanced that makes it all the more fascinating.

Here is a 90 min preview of the game.

Christian Eriksen is still unavailable, but apart from the Inter star, the Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand has no others absent.

After the Danes showed their best performance in the tournament when they beat Russia 4-1 in Copenhagen on Monday night, they will probably name an unchanged line-up.

Wales: Section; Roberts, Mepham, Rodon, Davies; James, Ramsey, Allen, Morrell, Bale; Moore.

Denmark: Flattery; Christensen, Kjær, Vestergaard; Wass, Hojbjerg, Delaney, Maehle; Braithwaite, Damsgaard; Poulsen.

These two nations have locked horns on ten occasions before, with the Danes winning six times. Wales have won four, and in fact there has never been a single move between them.

The most recent meetings came in the UEFA Nations League already in 2018. Denmark won 2-0 in Aarhus thanks to a brace from Christian Eriksen and ran 2-1 winner at Cardiff City Stadium in the return match.

After reaching this stage, both sides will be desperate to go as far as they can in the knockout rounds.

The Danes showed that they can be expansive and exciting in their last match, but you can be sure that they will be a little more pragmatic against a dangerous Wales team.

As for the Welsh, they will know that if they can hold it tight and defend well, they have the quality of the last third to hurt their opponents. This will be a close meeting, more than likely decided by just one goal.

Prediction: Denmark 1-0 Wales
