Farewell Victory: Juventus Defeats Monza 2-0 as Alex Sandro Bids Adieu with a Goal

Alex Sandro netted a goal in his final game for Juventus during their last Serie A match of the 2023-24 season, ending on a high note. The Bianconeri secured a 2-0 victory over Monza with goals from Federico Chiesa and Sandro in the first half.

Juve finished the season in third place with 71 points, well aware that Atalanta could still surpass them if they win their remaining two games. Chiesa opened the scoring after 26 minutes, followed by Sandro’s header from a corner just two minutes later.

Despite coming close to scoring a third goal in the second half, Chiesa’s shot hit the woodwork. Thiago Motta is set to take over as Juve’s manager, following his departure from Bologna.

Monza wrapped up their season in 12th place with 45 points. Chiesa’s near-miss against the goal post highlighted Juventus’ frequent encounters with bad luck, as they hit the woodwork 35 times since last season, second only to Inter.

Looking ahead, Juventus aims to sharpen their finishing skills under Motta’s guidance in their pursuit of the league title next season.
