Eriksen and Hojlund Secure Spots on Denmark’s Euro 2024 Roster While O’Riley Left Out

After surviving a heart attack against Finland three years ago, Eriksen is making a comeback in the European Championship with Denmark. The team’s lineup for Euro 2024 includes Eriksen and Hojlund but excludes O’Riley despite his success with Celtic.

Eriksen’s Euro 2020 journey was cut short due to a cardiac arrest during a match against Finland in Copenhagen. Although he spectated from the hospital, Denmark made it to the semi-finals. This time, Eriksen will play alongside his Manchester United teammate Hojlund.

Unfortunately, O’Riley did not make the cut for the squad, despite a stellar season at Celtic with 18 goals. Coach Hjulmund expressed mixed emotions about leaving out players like O’Riley while being content with the current team.

Injured veteran defender Kjaer is also part of the squad after recovering from a thigh injury that limited his playing time with Milan. Coach Hjulmund assured that Kjaer is fully prepared and in good physical shape for the tournament.
