De Jong and Depay Secured Spots in Netherlands’ Euro 2024 Squad, Maatsen Dropped

Borussia Dortmund’s Ian Maatsen, Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber, and Sparta Rotterdam’s Nick Olij did not make the Netherlands squad.

Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay made the final Euro 2024 squad, despite injury worries.

Earlier, coach Ronald Koeman announced a 30-man preliminary squad for the Oranje’s Euro 2024 campaign.

De Jong, who hasn’t played for Barcelona since April 21 due to an ankle problem, is in. Depay also returns to action after six weeks out.

Unfortunately, Atalanta’s Marten De Roon couldn’t make it due to a muscle injury.

Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber and Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Nick Olij will also miss the tournament.

Surprisingly, Borussia Dortmund’s Chelsea loanee Maatsen has been omitted.

After playing against Poland, the Oranje will face France and Austria in Group D.

The final 26-man Netherlands squad includes players from top clubs like Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.
